Update issued on India and Pakistan hosted matches at ICC events
Cricket fans were thrilled when the ICC Board confirmed on Thursday, 19 December that all India and Pakistan matches in ICC Events during the 2024-2027 rights cycle would be played at a neutral venue, ensuring the integrity of these high-stakes clashes.
The spotlight shines on the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, set to be hosted by Pakistan in February and March 2025, alongside other prestigious tournaments like the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, hosted by India, and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, the PCB celebrated being awarded hosting rights for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2028, with neutral venue arrangements extending across these events.
Looking further ahead, Cricket Australia prepares to host a senior ICC women’s event between 2029 and 2031, as the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is expected to be confirmed soon, with Pakistan aiming to defend their title from 2017.
The eight-team event will feature heavyweights like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, and South Africa, with Pakistan proudly standing as hosts.
